SYSTEM ANALYSIS

Respiratory System
The respiratory system of the body is responsible for supplying oxygen to the body and providing a mechanism for the rapid release of carbon dioxide. In fact, the definition of respiration is exchange of the gases between the air we breathe, the blood in the body, and the cells the body.
The air enters the nasal cavity, moving down the trachea.

The air moves through the trachea, and then into the primary bronchi, then the secondary and tertiary bronchi, and finally the bronchioles.
These bronchioles have microscopic branches called respiratory bronchioles that are then divided into several alveolar ducts. These alveolar ducts are the location for the actual respiration, or the exchange of gasses, to occur.
